Silo Park: Ice Cream Sundae 2020

Get some sweet relief from the scorching summer at Silo Park's third annual Ice Cream Sundae this January. Adding to the jam-packed lineup of summer activities, Silo Park is hosting an afternoon of indulgence with sweet treats, music and food in a free event to celebrate Auckland Anniversary Day.

The best and most-loved ice cream offerings from around Auckland will set up shop for the day from 12–5pm. There will also be an array of local food trucks to break up the sweet with some savoury, and beats by local DJs for all day entertainment.

Though the event is aimed to be a kid-friendly occasion, there will also be some adult-only treats on offer with the pop-up Silo bar concocting ice cream-inspired drinks.

Taking place on Sunday, 26 January, Ice Cream Sundae is a free event fit for family and friends to gather and celebrate our city together.

2020 Auckland Folk Festival

The Auckland Folk Festival is New Zealand's largest folk music and dance festival. Come and celebrate the 47th annual festival at the Kumeu Showgrounds on Auckland Anniversary Weekend.

With international guest artists, musicians from around New Zealand and six stages there is something for everyone!

A full dance programme is complemented by music from early until late, a kids stage and jams that go well into the night. The Recorded Music Tui for Best Folk Artist is presented on Sunday, alongside performances from the finalists. The Auckland Folk Festival presents folk music from around the world, including English, Irish, Scottish and American.

The Festival will kick off on the Friday evening at 7pm, and music will run til late on Sunday night!

Live music concert at East Auckland's Turanga Creek Vineyard. Relax in the summer sun with music & a glass of wine or 2. Local wine and craft beer available.

Feel free to bring your own shade, blankets, chairs etc. However no BYO food or drinks - free tap water available throughout. Parking available onsite and down the vines.

It’ll be a hot day so remember to bring sunscreen, and as always, come down and say hello if you’re at the event!

Auckland Chinese Community Centre Inc has been organising an annual Chinese New Year celebration for over 30 years. Our 2020 Chinese New Year Festival & Market Day is to welcome the Year of the Rat.

Come drop by, say hello and have a chat! We’ll be parked up outside with the best seats in the house. Look for the green truck oozing with drips.
